FAQs
We offer barrier solutions such as acrylic emulsion polymers and water-based silicone technologies to protect the building envelope. Our low-VOC solutions provide airtight performance in a wide range of temperatures, including exceptional durability and resistance to UV and water.
By stopping air and water infiltration with exceptional durability and resistance to UV, Dow’s solutions for air, water and vapor barriers; architectural panel bonding and rainscreen; and weatherproofing help improve energy efficiency, increase structure durability and reduce energy costs.
Cost-effective and easy-to-use, our system for panel bonding and rainscreens expands building cladding design possibilities while maintaining safety and control. This system has no visible connection points, and it offers primer-less adhesion on a variety of common cladding panel substrates, with immediate green strength directly after application.
Silicone sealants offer long-term durability, high movement capability and low modulus, particularly in cold temperatures. For example, DOWSIL™ 791 Silicone Weatherproofing Sealant cures to form durable flexible joints with medium-modulus, ± 50% joint movement capability, and excellent weatherability, virtually unaffected by sun, rain, snow, ozone.
DOWSIL™ Silicone Air Barrier System, comprising a variety of silicone technologies that protect the building envelope from air, water and vapor in both renovation and new construction support eco conscious building design with benefits including improved energy efficiency and durability and water-based, low-VOC formulation.
