Capture the lifecycle value of silicone building sealants from Dow
Our silicone sealants and weathersealing products significantly outperform other materials both in lifecycle value and dramatically lowering maintenance costs and lifetime ownership costs.
Silicone vs. Urethane – See the difference
After 100 days (2,500 hours) of UV exposure in accelerated weathering and heat stability tests, the urethane sealant deteriorates, while the silicone sealant remains untouched.

How the program works:
- Contact the Dow Distributor Resource Center about the building location and current sealant failure problems.
- Dow will provide you with referrals to at least two contractors/consultants who have agreed to participate in the Building Envelope Protection Program.
- Our experts will be available to assist with the writing and/or review of specifications.
- You will be responsible for requesting bids and selecting contractors/consultants.
- The contractor you choose will work with the local Dow distributor to help you select the appropriate materials and the appropriate standard or custom colors to meet your color needs.
- The Dow distributor will perform the required adhesion pull tests to verify if a primer is needed.
- When the job is complete, the contractor will work with the distributor to obtain the warranty.
- Dow will then issue a full warranty.
