Next-level distribution cable insulation
In 1983, we transformed the industry with the introduction of a water-tree-retardant crosslinked polyethylene (TR-XLPE) insulation. Since 1983, TR-XLPE has rapidly replaced conventional XLPE to become the predominant insulation for underground distribution cables in North America. So we’ve built upon the success of our proprietary TR-XLPE and improved it to address industry needs.
Our most recent generation of TR-XLPE technology, ENDURANCE™ HFDC-4202 insulation compound, takes reliability to the next level by offering five times longer life performance than competitive TR-XLPE materials1.
A complete distribution cable system
In addition to TR-XLPE insulation, we also provide fully formulated compounds for semiconductive shields and jacketing materials. Combining our latest TR-XLPE insulation with ENDURANCE™ HFDA-0800/0802 BK super-smooth semiconducting conductor shield, ENDURANCE™ HFDA-0693 BK and HFDA-0693 BK LS low-strip insulation shield and multiple options for jacketing compounds, results in a complete system that:
