What is SI-LINK™ DFDA-5451 NT PE Moisture-Curable Compound?

An ethylene- silane-copolymer for use in a moisture crosslinking process. This compound may be crosslinked after it is extruded with the SI-LINK™ DFDB-5480 NT PE Moisture-Curable Compound or SI-LINK™ DFDA 5481 NT catalyst masterbatch by exposing it to moisture after cable manufacture. If a black product is required for UV protection, the addition of SI-LINK™ DFDB-5410 BK carbon black masterbatch is recommended.

Uses

Insulation compound for power cable and control cable applications up to 1 kV.

Benefits

The crosslinking catalyst and carbon black masterbatches are shipped separately from the DFDA-5451 NT copolymer, the components are very shelf-stable
Crosslinking of the total system only occurs after hot melt mixing of the components and exposure to moisture and temperature.
