Just what the doctor ordered: Performance, processability and collaborative innovation
Medical fluid bags play a critical role in healthcare. So, it’s extremely important to ensure the bags and their contents remain safe and secure throughout production, shipment, storage and use. Of course, that’s easier said than done. The countless number of variables involved – fluid types, uses, sterilization techniques, regulatory requirements and more – absolutely demand custom-tailored solutions.
That’s why we offer a truly diverse portfolio of materials for multi-layer film structures used in bags for medication, nutrients, saline, lactated ringers, dextrose and other non-blood product fluids.
Our medical fluid bag solutions offer flexibility and toughness, sealability, clarity, low additive levels and processability across a broad range of temperatures.
INTUNE™ Olefin Block Copolymers (OBCs)
By replacing styrene-ethylene-butylene-styrene (SEBS) in the core of multi-layer films, this developmental, polypropylene (PP)-based material creates opportunities to reduce costs while maintaining low temperature softness and dart impact performance.
NOTICE: If products are described as “experimental” or “developmental”: (1) product specifications may not be fully determined; (2) analysis of hazards and caution in handling and use are required; (3) there is greater potential for Dow to change specifications and/or discontinue production; and (4) although Dow may from time to time provide samples of such products, Dow is not obligated to supply or otherwise commercialize such products for any use or application whatsoever.
All of our medical grade polymers offer excellent performance and value, but DOW™ HEALTH+™ Polymers deliver something extra.
These proven PE resins are specifically designed to meet the stringent requirements of medical fluid bags and other healthcare-related applications. Their high levels of quality and consistency are backed by our HEALTH+™ service offering, which includes but is not limited to:
- Secure, global product supply
- 1-year notification of change (NOC) + 1-year right to buy
- Drug master file (DMF) listings
- USP Class VI and/or EU Pharmacopeia
- USP <661.1>
In addition to helping reduce your workload, these added benefits can help speed up the development process.
