Dow Advanced Engineering is a program that enables the use of higher allowable stresses in structural glazing design using conventional design methods and Dow’s highly reliable and trusted DOWSIL™ Brand Silicone Structural Glazing Sealants. This program employs Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to describe sealant behavior and validate design assumptions. We have high-strength silicone sealants available for applications that require allowable stresses up to 30 psi (0.21 MPa) as well as high-modulus sealant technology for insulating glass where high-strength, economical joint systems are required.
