ENGAGE™ REN Polyolefin Elastomers
How can we make footwear more sustainable?
Today’s consumers expect the products they buy to be more sustainable, but to also offer outstanding performance. To help fight climate change while meeting this demand, the footwear industry is looking to develop products with a smaller carbon footprint, but the same level of performance.
In response, Dow has developed ENGAGE™ REN: produced from bio-based raw materials using our ECOLIBRIUM™ technology, it can help the industry move away from conventional, fossil-based feedstocks, by improving its products’ sustainability profile, without compromising their performance. Learn about our collaboration with global innovative footwear brand, Crocs.
Cutting your carbon footprint
Integrating ENGAGE™ REN bio-based Polyolefin Elastomers (POEs) into compounds and in the production phase helps to reduce products’ carbon footprint
ENGAGE™ REN polyolefin elastomers are produced using renewable energy sources and bio-based raw materials, and therefore significantly cuts carbon emissions.
The mass balance approach and process are certified using a mass balance model, which is certified by the International Sustainability & Carbon Certification (ISCC).
Improved sustainability, zero compromise
ENGAGE™ REN delivers the same, outstanding polymer performance you’ve come to expect from the rest of our ENGAGE™ range:
