SI-LINK™ Moisture-Curable Compounds
SI-LINK™ Moisture-Curable Compounds are specifically designed to produce insulation and jacketing for high-performance LV cables. They are produced using proprietary reactor copolymer crosslinking technology that enables comparable or better performance than widely used, competitive moisture-cure technologies.
A few of our recent LV developments include faster curing, scorch-resistant SI-LINK™ AC products, combined catalyst master batches, and VW-1 FR solutions. We’re constantly working to find better answers. And we’re looking forward to the discoveries we can make together.
Frequently Asked Questions
Our compounds are engineered to provide an optimal balance of properties for LV cables. The primary advantages are exceptional durability and long-term performance in rough conditions, combined with the flexibility required for easier installation in tight spaces. This results in a lower total life-cycle cost, enhanced safety, and greater reliability for residential and commercial power distribution.
Safety is fundamental to our design process. We offer specialized compounds with enhanced flame retardancy to reduce fire risk and halogen-free formulations for use in enclosed spaces. Additionally, the superior abrasion and cut-through resistance of our jacketing materials, like those made with DOW™ Wire & Cable CPE, protect the cable's integrity and minimize the risk of electrical faults.
We provide a comprehensive portfolio for both insulation and jacketing. This includes DOW™ ENDURANCE™ HFDD-4201 and UNIGARD™ RE-4375 for XLPE insulation, offering excellent service life and thermal performance. For jacketing, we supply everything from DOW™ Wire & Cable Polyethylene for weather and abrasion resistance to chlorinated polyethylene (CPE) for exceptional toughness, chemical, and oil resistance.
Reliability is engineered into our materials. Our cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) insulation provides excellent dielectric strength and resistance to thermal aging. Our jacketing compounds are formulated to withstand extreme temperatures, UV exposure, and mechanical stress. This robust protection ensures that the cables maintain their performance characteristics over decades of service, delivering the dependable power distribution that communities require.
