SI-LINK™
Moisture-Curable Compounds
Lighting it up for safe, efficient and sustainable low voltage power.
Low voltage (LV) power cables have one, very important job 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Homes, office buildings, industrial centers – entire communities – depend on LV cables to deliver electrical power.
SI-LINK™ Moisture-Curable Compounds also have one, very important job. This family of crosslinkable, silane-ethylene copolymers is specifically designed to produce insulation and jacketing that exceeds the demands placed on high-performance LV cables. As a result, SI-LINK™ Compounds help bring power to the people – helping light up their worlds in the safest, most efficient and sustainable manner possible.
A strong choice. That keeps getting stronger.
SI-LINK™ Moisture-Curable Compounds help ensure the highest levels of safety and reliability with:
- UL 44 recognition
- Voltage service for applications up to 2 kV
- 75°C and 90°C wet temperature ratings
- Scorch resistance, flame retardance (FR) up to VW-1, ultraviolet (UV) light resistance and photovoltaic (PV) capabilities
- •Suitability for most moisture-cure extrusion technologies
- Oil and gas resistance
- 40°C rated RoHS (Risk of Hazard) compliance
These proven, polyethylene- (PE-) based materials also offer comparable or better performance than widely used moisture-cure technologies such as Sioplas and Monosil. Our proprietary reactor copolymer crosslinking technology also enables advantages that include:
- Lower total costs
- More than one year of shelf life
- Excellent processability
- Comparable cure speeds
And, while they’re primarily intended for LV cable systems, SI-LINK™ Compounds also make a great choice for selected medium voltage (MV) applications.

The performance you need. Faster.
SI-LINK™ AC Compounds feature the same high levels of performance and value as conventional SI-LINK™ products, while adding faster curing and improved scorch resistance for LV cables.
SI-LINK™ AC enables significantly faster cure rates under all conditions, while also helping:
- Minimize the potential for “pre-cure” in the extruder which, in turn, reduces the potential for scorching
- Improve insulation surface quality and appearance
- Reduce scrap, providing improved value and handling characteristics
In addition to speeding up cure rates under standard conditions, these advanced materials allow faster curing under ambient conditions (e.g., a warehouse environment of 23°C and 70% relative humidity [RH]). This ability makes SI-LINK™ AC an ideal choice for cable manufacturers who don’t wish to install or operate the water baths or saunas traditionally used to help accelerate curing.

Better materials. Enhanced sustainability.
Top quality raw materials and a best-in-class, integrated supply chain allow us to tightly control the entire manufacturing and delivery process. As a result, wire and cable made with SI-LINK™ Compounds offers extended service life expectancy – helping reduce both the need for replacement and the environmental risks associated with digging and the disruption of communities.
Let’s help light up the world.
Partnering with utilities, cable makers and other members of the value chain, we’re positioned to develop better, safer, more sustainable wire and cable solutions, from exceptional halogen-free flame retardant (HFFR) performance to alignment with green building initiatives.
We believe that together, we can truly make a difference for businesses, communities, and individuals – improving the delivery of electrical power, and life, around the globe. We’d love to talk about how SI-LINK™ and SI-LINK™ AC Compounds can make a difference for you.
