Unique, Brighter Colors. More Sustainable Operations.
Dow's ECOFAST™ Pure Sustainable Textile Treatment helps address key sustainability challenges in the textiles industry – including water quality and water consumption – while enabling unique, brighter colors on cotton fabric.
ECOFAST Pure can decrease chemical use by up to 90 percent in the cotton dyeing process and meets the ZDHC Roadmap to Zero Programme standards. This patented technology also helps reduce dye and water use by up to 50 percent to achieve the same shade. These efficiencies are made possible without the odor constraints of previous cationic cotton and without the water temperature demands of typical dyeing methods, which can help reduce energy use.
ECOFAST Pure also enables stronger dye performance for brighter, bolder apparel that's long lasting. Dow's patented technology additionally allows for the uptake of acid dye on cotton, which delivers a wide range of unique colors unavailable until now.
About ECOFAST Pure Technology
ECOFAST Pure is a pretreatment applied before the dyeing process to produce cationic cotton. Cotton modified with ECOFAST Pure acquires a permanent positive charge, enabling it to have a higher affinity for negatively charged molecules, such as dyes.
This patented technology is compatible with reactive, direct and acid dyes and is optimized by pretreating cotton through pad application followed by typical dyeing methods. Textiles treated with ECOFAST Pure include knit and woven fabric, denim and garments.
