In papermaking applications, POLYOX™ Resins serve as processing aids, flocculants, adhesives, and components of finished products. Their primary roles are as adhesives and flocculants.
Adhesives – Solutions of POLYOX Water-Soluble Resins exhibit a high degree of wet tack and thus are useful as wet adhesives for tail-tie applications, and in tissue and toweling. The dry residue is non-tacky.
Flocculation – High molecular weight grades of POLYOX Water-Soluble Resins, sold under the UCARFLOC™ name, are used in paper making due to their high affinity for pulps, fillers, and pitch. POLYOX Resins are used in fines retention, drainage enhancement and in paper waste, wastewater and effluent systems. They exhibit a high affinity for a variety of materials, including silica, clays, lignins, and paper fines. POLYOX and UCARFLOC Polymers for Paper Applications
