Dow produces polypropylene glycols and polyglycol copolymers that are useful as both antifoaming and defoaming agents. As antifoaming agents, these products are added to aqueous systems to prevent the formation of foam. If foam has already formed, they can be used to eliminate it. DOW PPGs and copolymers are:
- 100% active liquids
- compatible with a wide range of processes
- inert and stable foam control agents
- low in toxicity
- non-corrosive
- non-ionic
- pH stable
- water insoluble with low surface tension, so they spread quickly across a liquid surface
