Understanding DOW Product Nomenclature
To identify DOW polypropylene glycols we use a simple convention of letters and numbers for their names.
| Dow Nomenclature |
Common Name |
| "P" or "P Series" |
Polypropylene glycols (PPGs) |
|
Polyalkylene glycols (PAGs) |
| DOWFAX* Nonionic Surfactants |
Block Copolymers |
| SYNALOX* Lubricants |
Random Copolymers |
DOW PPGs are all available in a range of molecular weights. The number following the letter indicates the approximate average molecular weight. For example, P400E is a polypropylene glycol of average molecular weight 400. An E at the end of a product name signifies that is a European grade.
