Dow Announces New Price for CARBOWAX™ & CARBOWAX SENTRY™ Products

The Dow Chemical Company will increase the North American price of its CARBOWAX™ and CARBOWAX SENTRY™ Polyethylene and Methoxypolyethylene Glycols by US $0.03 per pound, effective June 1, 2007.   This price increase is driven by strong demand and persistently high raw material costs.

Background

Dow was the first company to commercialize the production of polyethylene glycols in 1940 and is still recognized around the world as a leader in the business.  CARBOWAX and CARBOWAX SENTRY Polyethylene Glycols (PEGS) and Methoxypolyethylene Glycols (MPEGS) are a family of water soluble linear polymers formed by the addition reaction of ethylene oxide.  They are used in applications such as adhesives, cosmetics/personal care, household products, pharmaceuticals, printing and inks, textiles, wood treating and more.
