The natural lubricity, low volatility and water solubility of CARBOWAX™ PEGs and MPEGs make them useful in a wide range of lubricants. Some products are cleared for use as components in surface lubricants for forming metallic articles to be used in food processing. They are non-staining to metal parts, textiles and clothing. They are easily cleaned away and are noncorrosive to rubber and plastic materials. PEG is an excellent carrier for graphite and, when used properly, is designed to burn away cleanly, leaving little or no residue.
