CARBOWAX™ PEGs are not adversely affected by electrolytes and may be used to enhance the performance of electroplating processes. Small additions of PEG in tin and copper plating baths can give bright, fine-grained, compact deposits with excellent adhesion. They are also used as brightening agents in sulfate and chloride nickel-plating baths. For the electropolishing of aluminum and stainless steel, proper addition of PEG can result in a fine and glossy surface.
