CARBOWAX

Electronics

In the electronics industry, CARBOWAX™ PEG's are used as a water soluble fluid in the wire saw process to slice ingots (e.g. silicone, lithium titanate) into wafers.

A typical wire saw fluid formulation consists of abrasive particles, polyethylene glycols and additives. Polyethylene glycol is used because of its heat transfer properties, lubricity and water solubility.
