In the electronics industry, CARBOWAX™ PEG's are used as a water soluble fluid in the wire saw process to slice ingots (e.g. silicone, lithium titanate) into wafers. A typical wire saw fluid formulation consists of abrasive particles, polyethylene glycols and additives. Polyethylene glycol is used because of its heat transfer properties, lubricity and water solubility.
E = Europe grade Dow also offers UCON™ solder assist fluids for electronics applications. In addition, in Europe and Asia Pacific we offer DOWFAX* nonionic surfactants for defoamer formulations to control the foam in the developing stage of PCB manufacturing.
