Background

D151.01 Developmental Performance Polypropylene is an impact copolymer from the family of INSPIRE™ Performance Polymers. It has been developed for the production of sewage and drainage pipes which require lightweight materials with an optimal stiffness and impact resistance balance.

D151.01 Developmental Performance Polypropylene complies with the material requirements of the European standards EN 13476 and EN1852.

D151.01 Developmental Performance Polymer improves processing barriers in extrusion as a result of its low viscosity at processing shear rates. Melt pressure reduction in the extruder and lower torque are observed when compared with the extrusion of standard polypropylene pipe grades.

D151.01 will help pipe producers meet the increasing demand for sewage and drainage pipes in Europe, as towns, cities and nations across the region continue to expand and rehabilitate sewage pipe infrastructures.

D151.01 Developmental Performance Polymer is also suited for other nonpressure pipe applications like cable protection, in which output rates up to 60 m/min can be achieved when small diameter pipes are extruded (e.g. OD=20 mm).

D151.01 Developmental Performance Polymer is characterized by a fast crystallization which gives an excellent pipe dimensional stability upon cooling.

This low shrinkage together with the enhanced flow of the resin provides the required needs for injection of fittings and manholes.
