It is classified by the Food and Drug Administration as Generally Recognized As Safe (GRAS) and complies with the compendial specifications in the Food Chemicals Codex (FCC), the United States Pharmacopeia (USP) and the European Pharmacopeia (EP). OPTIM™ Glycerine is an approved food additive per rule E422 in the European Union, and meets Kosher standards.
