Pressure-Sensitive Adhesive for Carpet Adhesive
General Description
UCAR™ Latex 9188 represents a new waterborne technology. It is an inherently pressure-sensitive copolymer designed specifically for use as a carpet adhesive. UCAR Latex 9188 features the following performance characteristics:
- Good balance of surface tack, peel adhesion, and cohesive strength
- Good adhesion over concrete and other flooring substrate
- Excellent plasticizer migration resistance
- Repositionable after initial dwell time
- Maintains adhesion under damp conditions
- Maintains tack over “green” cement-based substrates
This combination of performance properties makes UCAR Latex 9188 well suited for both the Do-It-Yourself and professional carpet adhesive markets. In particular, this product will perform well as the base polymer for carpet-square adhesives.
