Needlefelt or needlepunch carpet is a web of fibers which are mechanically needled to bring together as a more dense mass. This is then impregnated with latex for strength, handle and durability.

The latex coating can be applied either via a Full bath Foulard Press, or be a one side coating where the latex is filled with Calcium Carbonate.

Dow latexes bring the following properties:

  • Handle – can be customized from soft to stiff handle
  • Ignition Resistance *
  • Strength
  • Antistatic *
  • Low Odour
  • High degree of penetration

Alternative fillers can also be used, such as Rubber Crumb for automotive mats and anti-slip backings. Please contact our technical centre for advice.
