Through various field studies, Dow has demonstrated that the use of hot melt adhesives formulated with AFFINITY™ GA can help reduce the amount of adhesive required by as much as 10%. The reason is based on science. As shown in the graph below, AFFINITY™ GA has a lower density than EVA. The lower the density, the greater the volume of polymer per pound. Since you purchase based on weight and apply based on volume, you can seal more packages with a pound of AFFINITY™ GA based adhesive as compared with competitive adhesives.
