Dow Introduces TRITON™ HW-1000 Surfactant High Performance Wetting Agent

Midland - June 27, 2013

The Dow Chemical Company (NYSE: DOW) announced the launch of TRITON™ HW-1000 Surfactant High Performance Wetting Agent in North America today. This non-APE based surfactant meets growing performance needs for water-based formulations to meet low- and no-VOC regulatory requirements in multiple industries, while also addressing industry requirements for faster processing. TRITON HW-1000 Surfactant is relevant to a broad range of applications including coatings, printing and inks, metalworking fluids, cleaning, agrochemicals and adhesives.

TRITON HW-1000 Surfactant features excellent wetting and leveling performance, and demonstrates low foaming and de-foaming capabilities. It effectively reduces the surface tension of waterborne solutions under both static and dynamic statuses. Thus, it is capable of wetting various substrates and more successfully reducing defects while improving the gloss and smoothness of coating films. TRITON HW-1000 has demonstrated capabilities in helping to improve solution flow in formulated systems. Additionally, rapid pigment dispersion capability has been found in customer-driven tests.

“In our continued efforts to meet the current and future needs of our customers, we are pleased to see the demonstrated capabilities of TRITON™ HW-1000 Surfactant,” said Michelle Boven, North America product marketing manager, Dow Surfactants. “Its demonstrated performance in wetting, leveling and surface tension reduction helps meet a number of growing needs for a broad range of customers.”

Produced in the U.S., TRITON™ HW-1000 Surfactant is now available on the market. For more information on the product, please download the technical data sheet. To obtain a sample, contact Dow’s toll-free Customer Information Group at +1-800-447-4369 or visit
