Plastic roads powered by Dow's ELVALOY™ RET solution

Dow's innovative ELVALOY™ Reactive Elastomeric Terpolymers (RET) asphalt modification technology has helped China create its first "Milk Bottle Road". After used plastic bottles were sorted, shredded, and melted, builders used ELVALOY™ RET to pave roads and pavements, giving hard-to-recycle plastic a second life.

Thanks to Dow’s ELVALOY™ RET asphalt modification technology, more than 6,000 milk bottles and other plastic waste were used to pave a groundbreaking polymer-modified asphalt (PMA) road in China. Roads made with PMA demonstrate excellent performance and durability compared to conventional neat asphalt.

Plastic roads made with ELVALOY™ RET meet very stringent road surface requirements and are thus ideal for high-performance applications like airport runways, racecourses, highways, and gas stations.
