Pipes manufactured with DOWLEX™ 2388 PE-RT resins have received the highest chlorine resistance certification (Class 5).
The certification was issued by the external and renowned Jana Laboratories, in Canada, and conducted on pipes in accordance with the conditions specified in ASTM norms. The DOWLEX™ 2388 PE-RT (Polyethylene of Raised Temperature Resistance) extruded plastic pipes have been submitted to different temperatures and pressures at a chlorine concentration of 4.4 ppm and have been tested for more than 2 years until a failure could be observed. Those results allowed extrapolation to lower temperatures and the pipes greatly exceeded the requirement of 50 years at 60ºC at such high chlorine concentration.
Tehstroi uses DOWLEX™ Polyethylene for Raised Temperature (PE-RT) resin from Dow for hot water supply pipesTehstroi, one of the largest producers of polyethylene pipes for water, gas distribution and sewage systems in Russia, decided to expand its product offering by introducing hot water supply pipes to the Russian marketplace. After careful evaluation, DOWLEX™ PE-RT technology from Dow was selected as the material of choice, fulfilling the requested parameters, while displaying exceptional long-term temperature resistance.
