Dow Opens Doors for Increased Energy Efficiency at IDAExpo

Dow to showcase how polyurethane technologies offer better climate control and meet changing regulations

Midland, MI: viernes, 08 de abril de 2016

Dow Polyurethanes is opening doors – literally – by further developing solutions for energy and cost-efficient doors as energy and sustainability needs continue to drive opportunities for polyurethane chemistry. At IDAExpo 2016, April 27-30, 2016 in Las Vegas, Dow Polyurethanes will showcase how it’s delivering technologies that meet global and social demands for high-performing insulated doors.

“Polyurethane foam is one of the best insulation materials available to help manufacturers and consumers achieve energy efficiency targets while reducing costs,” said Robert York, market manager for Dow Polyurethanes.

Doors insulated with Dow polyurethane technology include:

  • Better climate control, even in unconditioned garages
  • Reduces conditioned air loss from the rest of the house
  • Quieter operation
  • Increased durability and toughness

For companies and brand owners impacted by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Significant New Alternatives Policy (SNAP) regulations, Dow is developing new polyurethane-based solutions that will fully comply with the new regulations.

“We have a state-of-the-art pilot line for research and development efforts, which include low GWP and no ozone depletion potential solutions,” said York.

Additionally, Dow will showcase its unique DELTA THERM™ Eliminator Dispensing Gun in the booth. The DELTA THERM dispenser gun enables easy installation, allowing manufacturers to quickly set up production of high performance polyurethane doors. This helps keep investment low and eliminates hazardous waste handling or disposal problems.
