Promoting Cleaner and Resource-Efficient Pathways to Production
Manufacturing & Energy
Industry and energy are critical drivers of economic growth. By investing in new, efficient low-carbon technologies and cleaner energy sources, we can help build an environmentally and economically sustainable future.
Maximizing Impact Through Sport and Science
From fuel exploration and refineries to power generation and manufacturing of products used every day around the world, Dow science is out to set and shatter records in industrial efficiency. We are working with businesses, communities, governments and NGOs to bring solutions that push economic and long-term climate benefits beyond business as usual. By making a few practical operational changes, companies can realize significant environmental and economic gains. Multiply those gains across plants and industries on a global scale, and the impact is game-changing.
Collaborating to do our part for climate change
When partners in the value chain work together, we can make a difference. Be part of the Dow-IOC carbon partnership to gain competitive differentiation through sports and enhance your sustainability expertise and profile.

|Chemical industry||Project Name: Enabling more efficient ethylene oxide (EO) production
Impact: The Dow METEOR™ EO-RETRO 2000 (MR2000) Catalyst is a high-selectivity, high-activity, silver-based catalyst for EO production. It reduces direct CO2 generation (and hence minimizes CO2 as byproduct) and also improves process efficiency by reducing energy usage in the downstream separation phase of EO production. It is robust and flexible and can be installed at different EO plants regardless of the plant’s age, design technology and retrofit history. The project demonstrates that the adoption of MR2000 Catalyst in PETRONAS’ worldscale EO plant results in an increase in plant performance.
Press release: Dow collaborates with PETRONAS Chemicals Group for its first carbon savings contributor to the Official Carbon Partnership between Dow and the International Olympic Committee
Case Study: Enabling More Efficient Ethylene Oxide Production: METEOR™ EO-RETRO 2000 Catalyst
Project Name: Low-carbon Proylene Oxide Production at MTP HPPO Manufacturing Co., Ltd
Impact:The first in the region implementation of the low carbon technology with the carbon emission reductions certified under the Voluntary Carbon Standard (VCS). Instead of using conventional Chlorohydrin technology for producing Propylene Oxide, this project uses the state-of-the art and award-winning Hydrogen Peroxide to Propylene Oxide technology, which is significantly more energy-efficient, generates radically less wastewater and creates high-quality carbon emissions reductions.
