STEM Ambassadors from Texas Operations Demonstrate Soapy Fun

Students enjoy the special bubbles created during a STEM Ambassadors demonstration at the Lights On After School event at West Brazos Junior High in Brazoria, Texas.

A dozen STEM Ambassadors combined soap, dry ice and a healthy helping of discovery to create a sense of wonder in more than 100 students at the Lights On After School event at West Brazos Junior High in Brazoria.

The Oct. 29 event, sponsored by Communities in Schools (CIS), brought together local companies and nonprofit organizations committed to showcasing how after-school programs can encourage literacy and STEM education.

The STEM Ambassadors from Dow Texas Operations demonstrated an experiment that filled soap bubbles with dry ice to produce cloudy bubbles that students were able to hold with cotton gloves. Students also learned a basic science lesson on the states of matter through this interactive experiment.
