Donovan O Pitre
Title: Site Controller – Louisiana Operations
Donovan, is the Site Controller for Louisiana Operations and is responsible for providing support and guidance to the local Site Leadership Team and Business Leaders on finance/accounting strategies, policies, cost work process procedures, internal controls and records management.
Prior to being named Site Controller for Louisiana Operations Donovan was the Cost Accounting Focal Point for Project Blue Cube. In the role he was responsible for ensuring consistency in reporting, approach, calculations of adjustments, interpretation of cost categories, etc. Donovan joined Dow in 2002 as an intern in the Supply Chain Controllers group, where he conducted several projects related to third-party carriers. In 2003, he joined Dow full-time as an Accountant in Functional Controllers supporting Corporate Office Buildings and Aviation. In 2004, Donovan was named the North American Accountant for Customer Service and eBusiness, as well as the focal point for the NAA Property Tax and Insurance Distribution Process. During this time he also managed the legal entity management services rebilling activity. In 2006, he accepted a position as cost accountant for several Dow Latex plants throughout North America and the Latex Technology Center. In 2007, he joined the Corporate Auditing Department as a Senior Auditor and one of the SMEs for the manufacturing audit work process. In 2010, Donovan joined the Texas Operations Controllers Group as the North American Finance Analyst for Chlor-Alkali, Cell Services and Brine Mining. In 2011, cost accounting responsibilities for Dow Mitsui Chlor-Alkali were added. In 2012, Donovan added responsibility for K2 Pure Solutions, NAA HCL, Polyurethanes Isocyanates and I-Park for LaPorte Operations. In 2013, he became the Site Cost Lead for Seadrift Operations and the Finance Analyst for Seadrift Operations I-Park, Seadrift Energy Systems and Dow Mitsui JV Implementation.
Donovan also serves as Co-Team Captain of the Dow Sam Houston State University Recruiting Team. During his tenure at Dow his affiliations have included: Dow Women’s Innovation Network, Dow African American Network – Implementation Leader, The Institute of Internal Auditors, Beta Alpha Psi Professional Accounting Fraternity, NABA – Central Region Scholarship Chair, UNCF – Michigan Tri-County Chair, Saginaw Family Youth Initiative Mentor, Saginaw Preparatory Academy – Board Member, GMZ Education & Development Center
Donovan has a Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in Finance and minor in Accounting from Sam Houston State University.
