ETHOCEL™ resins are excellent granulation binders for dry processing, offering versatility in drug release rates and producing hard tablets with low friability. In small, effective amounts ETHOCEL™ does not adversely affect tablet disintegration/dissolution rates. Fine Particle (FP) grades can also offer improved processing conditions.
Solutions for Wet Granulation
METHOCEL™ Premium VLV Polymers
METHOCEL Premium LV products offer binding and adhesive properties as well as excellent tablet hardness without increasing friability or impacting API release during the wet granulation process for immediate release tablets.
With low concentrations, METHOCEL™ Premium LV can also reduce the required compression force during the wet granulation process, resulting in less wear and tear on equipment. The minimal concentrations facilitate smaller tablet sizes and the use of additional excipients to control other tablet characteristics.
ETHOCEL™ resins are widely used in solvent-based granulations when an API is sensitive to water. The resins facilitate the production of strong, low-friability tablets with wide range of dissolution rates, without adversely affecting drug release.
