Dow Included in the Clarivate Analytics Top 100 Global Innovators List
“This is our sixth straight year on the Top 100 Global Innovators list, clear recognition of the continuing strength of Dow’s R&D. We pride ourselves on being a market-driven, productive R&D organization, and that is what being a Top 100 Global Innovator recognizes,” said A. N. Sreeram, Dow’s senior vice president and chief technology officer. “This recognition is important to us because it recognizes impact. It isn’t an award for numbers of patents, it recognizes the quality, global reach and impact of our innovation. The power of our innovation portfolio translates directly into success for our company, our customers, and for society as a whole.”
The Clarivate Analytics top 100 Global Innovators methodology analyzes patent and citation data across four main criteria: volume; success; globalization and influence. On average, the 2016 Top 100 Global Innovators invest 9.1 percent more in R&D than those in the S&P 100.
“We believe the power of innovation is a fundamental driver of economic wellbeing, competitive advantage and success, which represents the heart of our business – to accelerate the pace of innovation through discovery, protection and commercialization,” said Jay Nadler, CEO of Clarivate Analytics. “Our Top 100 Global Innovators methodology eliminates any ambiguity as to what makes an organization innovative and we congratulate those who have made meaningful gains to usher in the next era of global innovation.”
