Dow Corning Engineer Jim Curtis Wins C. William Hall Award from the Society for Biomaterials

Dow Corning announced today that Jim Curtis, senior AETS specialist for Dow Corning’s Healthcare business, has won the Society for Biomaterials’ esteemed C. William Hall Award. This award recognizes members who have made a significant contribution and have an outstanding record in developing, establishing, maintaining and promoting the organization’s objectives and goals.

The Society for Biomaterials is a network of academic, healthcare, governmental and business professionals dedicated to promoting advancements in all aspect of biomaterial science. Curtis has been a member of the society for over 25 years and continues to serve as a peer reviewer, session chair and officer of the Biomaterials & Medical Products Commercialization Special Interest Group.

"Jim is a key consultant for healthcare colleagues globally, with a strong history and extensive knowledge of the healthcare industry,” said Tami Heilman-Adam, North America Healthcare AETS manager, Dow Corning. “We are proud to see him recognized for his expertise and long-standing contributions to the Society for Biomaterials."

Curtis has been involved in the medical device and materials field for 35 years, 29 of which were while he was employed by Dow Corning. He has also been published in over thirty publications and has been a keynote speaker at several biomaterial and silicone technology meetings. In winning this award Curtis joins a distinguished list of prior recipients, including past presidents of the society and pillars of the biomaterials community.
