Challenge conventional thinking with Dow at K 2019

MIDLAND, Mich. – Dow (NYSE: Dow) will present its full portfolio of high-performance SILASTIC™ silicone elastomers at K 2019 in Düsseldorf, Germany from October 16 to 23. As global demand for high performing, sustainable rubber materials continues to rise, Dow’s SILASTIC™ technologies can help meet customer manufacturing requirements in consumer goods, electrical, industrial, automotive and other demanding applications where performance, reliability, safety and aesthetics are essential.

“Collaborating with our customers to solve their most pressing challenges is our number one priority,” said Charles Zimmer, global director for Engineered Materials and Advanced Elastomers. “K 2019 gives us an opportunity to connect with global customers to discuss where they are now and how materials science, specifically SILASTIC™ silicone elastomers, can get them to where they want to be. We look forward to questioning the status quo and exploring the possibilities together in Düsseldorf.”

First introduced in 1945, SILASTIC™ brand silicone rubber, has since become a trusted name throughout the rubber and plastics industry. Customers have the flexibility to choose from a wide range of existing SILASTIC™ solutions or work alongside the Dow team to customize SILASTIC™ Compounds to meet their specific needs in areas such as viscosity, adhesion, fluid or heat aging, hardness, color or preform. Attendees at K 2019 will be able to experience first-hand many products powered by SILASTIC™ Liquid Silicone Rubber (LSR), Fluorosilicone Rubber (FSR), moldable optical and High Consistency Rubber (HCR) technologies, including turbocharger hoses, connectors, 3D printed silicone elastomers parts, seal and gaskets and lighting applications.

“At Dow, we continue to identify ways to address key global market requirements and accelerate innovation and sustainability throughout the rubber and plastics industry,” said Zimmer. “The downstream technology investments recently completed at our plant in Barry, United Kingdom exemplified how Dow seeks better ways to serve our customers through increased SILASTICTM production capacity, while also enabling more consistent, reliable, and productive production lines.”

Technical experts will be on-site at K 2019 to listen and collaborate with customers to determine the best possible solutions to meet their needs today and in the future. Stop by the Dow booth (Hall 8a / K48-1 – K48-4) to ask questions, forge new relationships and begin collaborations that can help transform businesses and society.
