How Can Water Rebuild a City?
When anearthquake ravaged Haiti in 2010, basic needs like water and shelter immediately became a top priority. Together, Dow and WaterBrick® International used approximately 600,000 pounds of Dow’s high performance CONTINUUM EP™ High Density Polyethylene Resin (HDPE) to fashion WaterBricks capable of carrying food and water for the people of Haiti. These bricks also helped to hold sand and dirt and were used in the construction of shelters. In the aftermath of the tragedy, Dow’s donation helped deliver basic needs to a country in crisis.
