Dow Polyurethanes, a business unit of DowDuPont Materials Science, has won ‘Sustainability Product of the Year’ in the 2017 Sustainability Awards program by Business Intelligence Group. The award was presented for Dow’s mattress foam technology, VORAGUARD™ Polyol. VORAGUARD™ Polyol is a patented polymer polyol for flexible polyurethane foam production designed to exhibit inherent flammability resistance properties and excellent load-bearing in addition to having ultra-low-emission characteristics. Combining these features in one single product helps enable manufacturers to significantly enhance foam performance, resulting in benefits in almost any aspect of production and use.
“Dow has a legacy of creating sustainable solutions at the intersection of the sciences and this award is testament to that,” said Jon Penrice, Vice President, Dow Polyurethanes Europe Middle East, Africa and India (EMEAI). “VORAGUARD™ Polyol is a fantastic innovation that was designed from the outset to be sustainable while also enabling substantially higher levels of foam performance. This demonstrates our passion and commitment to generate value for our customers and the environment.”
“We are so proud to reward and recognize Dow for their sustainability efforts and smart business strategy,” said Russ Fordyce, managing director, Business Intelligence Group. “Their innovation and leadership serve as a high benchmark for other organizations and leaders around the globe. Congratulations!”
