Dow Launches Beauty Formulations that Help Consumers be their “Perfect Selves” at PCHi China

Today’s formulators are faced with the challenge to create products that deliver a wide range of consumer benefits, protect from external aggressors and appeal to a diverse range of consumers all in one. At PCHi China, February 26-28, 2019 in Guangzhou, China, Dow will showcase three new beauty formulation concepts to help consumers enjoy life, highlight inclusive beauty and cherish themselves.

“As a celebration of the show’s theme ‘Perfect Me’, we are excited to unveil our three new beauty care formulation concepts to offer solutions that ensure inclusivity, convenience and optimal protection in products,” said Jennifer Liang, Greater China commercial manager for Home & Personal Care. “Visitors to PCHi China will have access to several new formulations for a spectrum of beauty applications in suncare, haircare, skincare and cosmetics, acting as a one stop shop for all formulation needs.”

With the fast pace of modern life, consumers need easy-to-carry, multifunctional products with noticeable effects to make life easier and more enjoyable. The first concept, “Enjoy Modern Life,” includes a number of versatile formulations to create multipurpose formulations, including:

  • Restore Radiance 5-in-1: Perfect, simple and rich all-in-one moisturizer that can be used as lotion, serum, toner, cream or a night mask.
  • Refreshing Root-lifting Dry Shampoo: A refreshing powder that brings an airy, weightless, silky sensation to the roots, adding volume and sebum absorption.

Dow recognizes the need for more multicultural beauty products and is committed to reaching the previously under-served segments of the beauty industry. The second concept, “Inclusive Beauty”, is aimed to help consumers showcase themselves with the belief that everybody can shine regardless of gender, ethnicity or age. Formulations include:

  • Soft Focus Wow Serum: A skin serum that is easy to spread and provides a smooth and silky feel. The gel-to-powder transformation offers an exciting and light texture which masks imperfections with soft focus technology.
  • Picture Ready Serum: Fresh-feel aqua-based serum that can be used alone to create a no-makeup, natural look while immediately masking fine lines and pores.

In an effort to ensure consumers have access to high-quality, high-performance products that capture the most delicate and subtle needs of consumers to protect themselves from ever changing environments, Dow created the last concept, “Cherish Yourself”, which includes:

  • Purely Clean Shampoo: Paraben, MIT, CIT and formaldehyde free. Small particle and big particle silicone emulsion combines together with a cationic polymer to soften hair and improve wet hair sensory.
  • Frizz Taming Hair Serum: An anhydrous frizz-control serum that brings a unique texture, natural styling and silky feel to hair.
