Solvent-borne concrete coatings bring many advantages, including easy application, fast dry speed, and excellent color and gloss retention for protecting concrete from the elements. In a Dow industry comparison, PARALOID™ B-66 Acrylic Resin was tested alongside a competitive resin. Both were applied to cured concrete at 250 grams per square meter and placed outside, face-up, at an exposure station after 24 hours of dry time. After two months, the concrete blocks were brought back to the lab. Water spots were then applied to the coatings, and left to dry overnight.
PARALOID™ Acrylic have been tested in a variety of market applications including concrete. In a Dow industry comparison, PARALOID™ B-66 Acrylic Resin was tested alongside a competitive resin. After two months, the concrete blocks were brought back to the tab. Water sports applied to the coatings, and left to dry overnight.
PARALOID™ B-66 Acrylic Resin exhibits trace whitening, acting as a powerful, efficiente sealer, preventing water from penetrating trough to the concrete. The competitive resin, on the other hand, exhibits, heavy whitening, or efflorescence in which water penetrates through the coatings film, dissoldinv salts in the concrete which rise to the surface. This is usuaaly accompanied by some loss of adhesion at these locations.

Long Pot Life, Short Cure Time
Two-component (2K) polyurethanes typically sacrifice cure time for pot life unless plural component application equipment is employed. PARALOID™ Edge Technology is distinctly different. In addition to isocyanate-free crosslinking, this novel urethane technology decouples formulation pot life from coating dry time.
Agriculturual & Construction Equipment
