Dow Was An Official Supporter of Invictus Games Orlando 2016

Competing veteran in the Invictus Games

Dow was proud to be an Official Supporter of the Invictus Games Orlando 2016. A team of Dow employees, comprised of talent acquisition specialists, logistics leaders, site leaders and U.S. military veterans, represented the Company at the Invictus Games Orlando 2016, the only international sporting event for wounded, ill, and injured service men and women.

The Invictus Games showcased more than 500 military competitors, from 14 nations who participated in 10 sporting events in the 2016 Games, held May 8 – 12, 2016 at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida. Founded in 2013 by Prince Harry, the Games harness the power of sport to inspire recovery, support rehabilitation, and generate a wider understanding and respect for those who serve their country.

Invictus 2016

From the preparation phase to the closing ceremony, the Invictus Games Orlando 2016 proved to be a life-changing experience for the Dow team members. One employee, Kyle Graham, Site Logistics Leader, summarized the experience when he said, “The Games really showed us how people can overcome incredible adversity in their lives and still accomplish great things. It also proved that we should not look at someone with a disability and judge them or discredit them for not still being capable of greatness! We saw the athletes out there every day demonstrating that that they can do things, incredible things – they just do it differently. It was both inspiring and humbling.”
