Joining Dow 5 years ago, my time with the company has been full of exciting opportunities and experiences to say the least. I was initially concerned that not having a science background may have held me back, but Dow has shown me that as long as I’m willing to learn, they will teach, develop and support. While at Dow, I have been able to participate in a number of programs, from the Commercial Development Program (CDP) as a graduate, to the Pacific Commercial Exposure Program (PCEP) as I stepped into a marketing role for the first time.
The PCEP gave me the chance to immerse myself in Southeast Asia, being based in Thailand for 5 months, in order to help build our local market knowledge, explore trends and opportunities for growth, and truly understand our customer’s challenges. Not only was this an amazing chance to travel and experience the cultures of Southeast Asia, but as a result of the program, my teammates and I have been able to build up our region’s innovation pipeline to address Dow’s customer’s needs and help redefine our division’s strategy to grow in this geography. It’s an amazing feeling to know that our contributions are able to make a difference in a large organisation like Dow.
