DowDuPont Day 1: Supplier Letter
Dear Valued Supplier:
Today, we announced the successful completion of the merger transaction between The Dow Chemical Company (“Dow”) and DuPont, to create DowDuPont. The transaction is an extraordinary opportunity to deliver long-term, sustainable shareholder value through the combination of two highly complementary global leaders.
During the next few months, we will work diligently to put the new organization in place. In the meantime, there will be no immediate change in the way business is transacted. Please continue to work with your existing procurement contacts. They are there to help answer your questions on any transactional issues that should arise, and to keep you informed on the transaction progress. All legal entity names, mailing addresses, tax ID numbers and VAT numbers, remit-to information, invoice, bank account and payment information also are unchanged at this time.
As we move forward in the integration process, we plan to launch a series of strategic sourcing initiatives that will help us evaluate current supplier relationships. To achieve our cost targets, we need the collaboration of all of our key business partners, and given the increased volume, our business partners will be poised to share in the benefits of working with DowDuPont.
As new information becomes available, we will make every effort to keep you well informed. Thank you for your continued support.
Vice President, Purchasing
The Dow Chemical Company
Do I need to update my records now that Dow and DuPont have merged?
No. There will be no immediate change in the way business is transacted. All legal entity names, mailing addresses, tax ID numbers and VAT numbers, remit-to information, invoice, bank account and payment information will remain unchanged after the transaction. There should be no changes at this time. We will inform you in advance if any changes are necessary in the future.
Will supplier contracts and other agreements be honored by Dow?
There will be no immediate change in the way we do business.
How will the creation of DowDuPont impact suppliers? What changes can I anticipate when the three intended spin companies are created?
There will be no immediate change in the way business is transacted. During the coming months, we will work diligently to put the new organization in place and deliver cost synergies. As we move forward in the integration process, we plan to launch a series of strategic sourcing initiatives that will help us evaluate current supplier relationships. We are particularly eager to continue to work with companies that have been valued suppliers to our legacy companies and will support us in our mission to deliver cost savings. We will communicate with suppliers regularly as information becomes available to share. Our focus is on helping deliver consistent and seamless services to customers and to minimize complexity and continue our relationships with valued suppliers.
Do my contacts change? Will I work with a different person for support?
For now, you will continue to work with the same contact. We will communicate with you as soon as possible should there be any changes.
