Robert S. (Steve) Miller

Former President and Chief Executive Officer, International Automotive Components (IAC) Group

Miller serves on the Materials Advisory Committee of the Board of Directors of DowDuPont Inc.

Miller was elected to the Dow Board of Directors in January 2015.

Miller is the former President and Chief Executive Officer of International Automotive Components (IAC) Group, a leading global supplier of automotive components and systems, and Chairman of MidOcean Partners, a private equity firm specializing in leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations and growth capital investments in middle-market companies.

Miller served as Non-Executive Chairman of American International Group (AIG) from 2009 to August 2015. He served as Chief Executive Officer of Hawker Beechcraft from February 2012 to February 2013. He served as Executive Chairman of Delphi Corporation from January 2007 until November 2009 and as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer from July 2005 until January 2007. Miller currently serves as a director of Symantec Corporation.

Miller began his career in 1968 at Ford Motor Company and worked for more than a decade in a variety of assignments in the United States, Mexico, Australia and Venezuela. In 1979, he joined Chrysler Corporation where he worked for thirteen years, eventually serving as Vice Chairman responsible for corporate staffs, financial services, international automotive operations, and non-automotive operations. In 1980, Miller led financial negotiations with 400 lenders and the U.S. government, which resulted in the Loan Guarantee Act that secured the bailout of the troubled automaker.

Miller joined the James D. Wolfensohn, Inc. a New York investment bank, as a senior partner in 1992. During this time, he also served as an advisor to Olympia & York, a privately held real estate firm, as it restructured over $20 billion in debt. In addition, Miller has held top leadership positions at many companies including Federal Mogul Corporation, Bethlehem Steel Corporation, and Morrison Knudson, and served as a director for a variety of companies, including WL Ross Holding Corp, United Airlines Corporation, Reynolds American, Inc., U.S. Bancorp, and Waste Management, Inc.

Miller earned a degree in economics from Stanford University, a law degree from Harvard Law School and a master’s of business administration, majoring in finance from Stanford Business School.
