Introducing Retire United in Midland

Are you seeking meaningful ways to stay active and give back to your community? Did you know that volunteering encourages stronger, sustainable communities – economically, environmentally and socially? When you think about volunteerism in your retirement, consider the skills and experience you acquired throughout your career and know that those attributes, combined with your passion, will provide significant value to non-profits and community organizations throughout the region. You can make a difference!

The new Dow Retire United program, in partnership with United Way of Midland County, has been specifically created to help Dow retirees like you get involved in events and programs that meet your interests for the good of the community. Retire United provides individuals with the means to remain active in the community by using their valuable skills, talents and experiences in their communities. Seniors are one of the fastest growing segments of our population and often have the greatest capacity and inclination to give back to our community. Knowing that retirement planning starts five years prior to retirement, we will also work with HR to create a bridge to retirement.

United Way is a leader in helping to address existing and emerging needs of our communities and encourages greater social inclusion and community engagement. We work with corporations to promote empowerment, independence and dignity for older citizens, utilizing their skills so they will continue to recognize the value of their service, talents and knowledge.
