EMERGE Conference a Transformational Experience for Many Participants

“This is not a moment. This is a movement.” That was the overwhelming feeling that arose from the more than 500 Dow employees who attended EMERGE, Dow’s first all-Employee Resource Group (ERG) conference last June. The three-day conference was an energizing event, bringing employees from more than 30 countries and diverse job roles, functions and businesses to Houston, Texas. The highly interactive event focused on building a culture of inclusion and emerging the role of ERGs as true business partners and change agents to advance the business strategy of Future Dow.

Dow leaders and employees discussed the ambition and strategic direction of the Company, as well as shared their personal stories and commitment to truly changing the culture.

This is the start of “a movement that will bring out the best in our people, the best thinking, the best new ideas, that will help us fulfill Future Dow’s ambition to become the most innovative, customer-centric, inclusive and sustainable Materials Science Company in the world,” said Karen S. Carter, chief inclusion officer, in her opening remarks. “The ERGs will emerge as change agents and catalysts for personal success and for business success.”
