Elastomers

As a leading global supplier of wire and cable solutions, Dow Wire & Cable is committed to expanding markets and transforming technologies to help its customers innovate, differentiate and create value. Dow Wire & Cable recently added three new performance-enhancing elastomers to its portfolio — ENGAGE™ Polyolefin Elastomers, NORDEL™ Ethylene Polypropylene Rubber (EPR), AND TYRIN™ Chlorinated Polyethylene (CPE).

Versatile ENGAGE Polyolefin Elastomers bridge the gap between rubber and plastic. Produced using Dow’s INSITE™ Technology, ENGAGE can be used to modify wire and cable compounds, or as the primary polymer matrix. ENGAGE polymers offer superior combinations of flexibility and processability, low density and colorability.

NORDEL EPR products set higher standards in ethylene propylene diene monomer performance. Also produced using INSITE Technology, NORDEL improves yield, reduces scrap and provides exceptional polymer cleanliness for use in LV and MV compounds, including FR compounds

TYRIN CPE materials can be used in wire and cable jacketing compounds to increase impact strength and resistance to ignition, chemicals, heat, low temperatures and weathering. The Dow Chemical Company is the pioneer of CPE materials.
