Benoit Fritz Named Dow Wire & Cable Market Manager for Europe, the Middle East and Africa

Horgen, Switzerland - September 13, 2005

Dow Wire & Cable, a market-facing global business unit of The Dow Chemical Company, today announced that Benoit Fritz has been appointed Dow Wire & Cable market manager for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Benoit will be based in Horgen, Switzerland.

“Benoit will bring his eight years of industry experience and insight to help Dow Wire & Cable advance its global delivery of innovative solutions that deliver value and lower total system cost,” said Tim Laughlin, global business director for Dow Wire & Cable.

Most recently, Benoit worked with DuPont-Dow Elastomers (DDE) as the global wire & cable team leader for ethylene copolymers. In this position, he doubled sales in wire & cable applications over a two-year period. He also served as sales development manager for DDE ethylene copolymers in Europe. His responsibilities included analyzing market opportunities, developing program prioritizations and implementing global business plans. In less than three years in this position, Fritz drove volume growth of 150 percent and tripled sales in the automotive noise, vibration and harshness business segment.

Benoit began his career at Safic-Alcan as a technical sales representative and then as an ethylene elastomers champion in France, Spain and Portugal. He earned a Diplome de Etudes Approfondies (DEA) and a Licence/Maîtrise in organic and bio-organic chemistry from P&M CURIE, Paris VI University. In January 2000, he conducted DEA research in Eccole Normale Superieure, which was published in the Journal de l’Academie des Sciences.
