Dow Wire & Cable: North America

Elastomers

Effective July 1, 2005, three former Dow products from the recently dissolved DuPont Dow Elastomers joint venture were re-integrated into Dow. The three performance-enhancing elastomers are available as part of Dow Wire & Cable’s materials portfolio and can be used in a variety of wire and cable applications. Please see product-specific information below or refer to the market application at left that best suits your business needs.

  • ENGAGE™ Polyolefin Elastomers are polyethylene (PE) based with a high degree of comonomer, suitable for blending into base resins for enhanced additive loading capacity. ENGAGE polymers offer superior combinations of flexibility, processability and colorability.
  • NORDEL™ Ethylene Propylene Rubber products are primarily ethylene propylene diene monomer-type resins used to increase flexibility and heat performance in crosslinked cable applications. NORDEL improves yield, reduces scrap and provides exceptional polymer cleanliness for use in low and medium voltage compounds, including flame retardant compounds.
  • Used in wire and cable jacketing compounds to increase strength, TYRIN™ Chlorinated Polyethylene works especially well in physically challenging environments that require abrasion and chemical resistance.
