The Dow Chemical Company Performance Fluids business' new DOW SYMBIO™ Bio-Hydraulic Fluid is now officially listed on the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) "BioPreferred" web site. 

According to the USDA web site:

"The BioPreferred program aims to increase the purchase and use of renewable, environmentally friendly, bio-based products while providing "green" jobs and new markets for farmers, manufacturers and vendors.  The BioPreferred program offers three major benefits: climate change impact reduction; energy/environmental security, and economic development." DOW SYMBIO™ Bio-Hydraulic Fluid

DOW SYMBIO™ Bio-Hydraulic Fluid is the first chemistry of its kind to combine the renewable and biodegradable characteristics of high oleic canola oil with the excellent deposit control (non-sludging) thermo-oxidative and hydrolytic stability characteristics of polyalkylene glycol (PAG) while meeting and exceeding most environmental requirements.

DOW SYMBIO™ Bio-Hydraulic Fluid is a readily biodegradable and renewable product that provides excellent anti-wear performance. It is a fully formulated, bio-hydraulic fluid designed for use in stationary hydraulic equipment operating under mild conditions with reservoir temperatures ranging from -10 degrees Centigrade to 70 degrees Centigrade at pressures up to 5,000 pounds per square inch.  DOW SYMBIO™ Bio-Hydraulic Fluid is ideal for applications in sensitive environment areas such as stationary marine equipment and entertainment equipment such as large fountains and amusement park rides.
