West Virginia Operations

Transportation

West Virginia has three Union Carbide facilities - South Charleston Technology Park, South Charleston Site and the Institute Site - all which follow the Kanawha River, a busy waterway that empties into the Ohio River at Point Pleasant, on West Virginia's western edge. In addition to river transportation, the area also relies heavily on railway services. West Virginia Operations is within 24-hour trucking distance of 43 percent of the U.S. industrial market, and 36 percent of the consumer market. With heavily traveled roads, rivers and railroads, West Virginia is ideal for transporting finished goods and raw materials.
