Now that Hurricane Katrina has passed through Louisiana, Dow sites are in the process of working to bring any affected operations back on line safely. This is heavily dependent upon a number of issues, including availability of power, steam, utilities, raw materials, and transportation.

Employees and contract employees managed through this severe hurricane with careful preparations, which included close monitoring of the hurricane, safely shutting down several of the production units, securing loose equipments or items and the careful attention of hurricane shift duty crews.

The sites are continuing to maintain an unwavering focus on the safety of employees and the communities. Site personnel were in continual contact with local emergency responders throughout the storm. We will continue working with these emergency responders and our local communities as we all begin taking action to recover from this strong hurricane.
