Approximately 20 children of St. Charles Operations employees recently visited the site to participate in the 2004 "Take Your Child to Work Day." Each child had the opportunity to job shadow their parent for the day. During this time, children asked questions and saw first-hand the daily activities involved in their parent's job, as well as the role they play within the Dow organization.
The children also participated in a career fair, which was held on site. During this activity, the children explored a variety of career opportunities available at Dow. Representatives from Engineering/Maintenance, Public Affairs, Finance, the Office Professional Network and EHS set up displays and spoke to the children about the education and skills required to succeed in their roles. In addition, several volunteers presented presentations on: PTEC, Six Sigma, Science is pHun, Chemistry in our Lives and the Dow website.
Members of the site's Women's Innovative Network and other SCO Diversity Networks helped sponsor the event.
